You are the Commissioner himself, arrived a night early in plain clothes: examine the scene with a coroner's rigor, interrogate six scholars and patrons who all lie, and present evidence to break their testimony — every collapsed lie opens new paths through the academy. Then pass judgment with a full chain of means, opportunity and motive; a wrong verdict lets the killer kneel, thank you, and walk away.
